Intercultural Management
Target Group:
Managers who must give instructions to and motivate international teams.
For staff who must interact productively with international clients or colleagues to perform a significant part
of their work or foresee this need in the future.
Seminar Target:
Participants in this seminar will improve their ability to:- Communicate with confidence in international business
- Create positive relationships with business people of other cultures
- Avoid offending or insulting international employees
- Give instructions without causing employees to lose face
- Communicate more effectively with international clients and colleagues
Content:
- Provide a framework for guidance in intercultural relations
- Identify and deal with stereotypes and prejudices
- Practice using appropriate behavior in intercultural business relations
- Share experiences with other international managers
- Case studies, video tapes of appropriate cross cultural management in business
Methods:
Trainer input to provide framework, role plays, simulations.
Participant output will be videotaped for analysis and feedback.
Comments:
Participants should be prepared to speak English throughout the seminar.
The seminar will continue in the evening with group activities and discussions.
The evening activities are designed to further improve and reinforce language skills.
Participants are strongly encouraged to take part in these events.
Pre-requisites:
All participants must fulfill the requirements for an English language professional skills seminar at an intermediate level: The "Pre-Course Questionnaire" returned to Personnel.
