Collateral Management
Target Group:
Collaterals Department Management and Staff requiring professional business communications skills and highly specialized terminology for collateral analysis and processing.
Seminar Target:
Participants will improve their written and spoken abilities to:- Understand correctly conversations about collateral
- Lead and politely direct the flow of a business conversation on collateral
- Speak confidently about collateral, e.g. guarantees, letters of comfort, mortgages etc.
- Ask specific questions regarding various financial instruments serving as security
- Communicate professionally by telephone with foreign branches
- Negotiate firmly with difficult customers about collateral drafts
- Outline concisely collateral requirements
- Explain thoroughly the bank’s policy on collateral
- Present a clear, comprehensive valuation of security offered
- Determine appropriate language for various business situations and counterparts (e.g. informal talks with colleagues vs. formal negotiations with a client)
- Provide a concise outline for collateral requirements
Content:
Participants are encouraged to provide cases that provide good examples of daily business.- Offering a concise written analysis of collateral
- Discussing valuable vs. non-valuable security
- Warning of and quantifying the risks
- Describing the collateral, its values and its drawbacks
- Conferring on Liquidations
- Making recommendations regarding acceptance or denial of collateral
- Practicing a phone call, negotiation and discussion about collateral-specific issues
Methods:
Trainer input on language, case studies from participants, role-plays, simulations, written review work of vocabulary and collateral terminology. Participant output will be videotaped for feedback and analysis.
Comments:
Each participant will present one realistic case from daily business
to facilitate the practice-specific focus of the workshop.
Participants should be prepared to speak English during all phases of the workshop
to optimize the learning effect.
The seminar will continue in the evening with group activities and discussions.
The evening activities are designed to further improve and reinforce language
skills.
Pre-requisites:
All participants must fulfill the requirements for an English language professional skills seminar at an intermediate level: The "Pre-Course Questionnaire" returned to Personnel.
